Please register today! When you join the CareWalk or make a donation, you support kids and adults with Thalassemia.

You support finding a cure, and help people with Thal live and thrive to the fullest.

The walk will circle Bethesda Row, and is doable for kids and those with disabilities.

Proceeds from the walk go to The Cooley’s Anemia Foundation, a 501(c)(3) U.S. nonprofit foundation that funds Thalassemia research, and advocates for individuals with Thalassemia.

What is Thalassemia?

Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder that causes one's red blood cells to fail. Many need monthly blood transfusions and medication is extremely expensive.

Many kids from the earliest stages of life need continuous monthly blood transfusions. They appreciate life and fight for life.

All touched by Thalassemia appreciate that you are considering joining us in a walk for a cure!

This will be a fun-filled family event!

Coffee and bagels from Bethesda bagels for registered walkers and an amazing t-shirt designed by a child with Thalassemia. It’s the image in the logo.

Lots of live music from indie folk musician Eli Lev and progressive pop/rock singer/songwriter Emma G. Two amazing musicians from the DC Metro to get you groovin!
Activities for kids including face painting and balloon animals.

Local Bethesda merchants have been super supportive, many donating silent auction items! Thank you!

Thank you to DMV based Hair Cuttery for sponsoring the DMV event and also being a National Sponsor of Care Walk 2019!
